We’ll Keep You on the Road.
To understand the inception of Jack John Varcados Shell Inc. in 1990, we must look 25 years prior to the inception of Varcados Exxon in 1965. John Varcados, an immigrant from the small remote island of Leros in Greece, journeyed all by himself at the age of 12, in 1955 to the United States in the hope of a better life for himself and his family after the Axis Powers destroyed his home and any future he would have had in Greece after World War II. After 10 long years of constant hard work, John had finally saved enough money to open up his own Exxon Service Center in 1965. Varcados Exxon served the greater West Houston area and was the premier choice for Houstonians when it came to anything automotive-related. In 1990, Varcados Exxon closed its doors due to John’s heart attack and poor health. That same year, in 1990, Jack John Varcados Shell Inc. was created, and the legacy of automotive service excellence lives on through his son Jack, who proudly services the greater Memorial area.
